This Privacy Policy applies to personal information that we collect, process, or maintain in connection with the Platform, including information collected directly from users, automatically through use of the Platform, from third-party service providers and verification services, and through communications and transactions related to the Platform.
This Privacy Policy applies to both online and offline interactions with SMASHCAM, including website usage, account registration, communications, and customer support.

3.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from identity or verification providers (such as the VA Veteran Confirmation API or similar services), payment processors, analytics providers, and publicly available sources. In most cases, we receive only a confirmation or status result, not the underlying documentation used to complete verification.

Information relating to military affiliation or veteran status may be considered sensitive. We process such information only where necessary for Platform functionality and in accordance with applicable law.
PURPOSES FOR PROCESSING
We use personal information to provide, operate, and maintain the Platform; create and manage user accounts and profiles; enable communication between users; process payments and subscriptions; verify identity or eligibility through third-party services; improve functionality and user experience; detect and prevent fraud; and comply with legal obligations.
DATA RETENTION
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed to carry out the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Retention periods are based on the duration of your relationship with us, the nature of the information, applicable legal requirements, and legitimate business needs.
For dormant accounts — accounts with no login activity — we retain personal information for a maximum of 3 years from the date of last activity, after which data may be deleted or anonymized.
DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may share personal information with service providers who support Platform functions such as hosting, payment processing, analytics, and customer support; third parties that assist with identity or military status verification; other users as part of the Platform's functionality; and within SMASHCAM FILMS LLC for internal operational purposes.
Certain uses of cookies or analytics tools may be considered "sharing" under California Privacy Laws. You may opt out by adjusting your cookie preferences or contacting us directly.
COOKIES AND TRACKING
The Platform uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to support functionality, analytics, communications, and other operational purposes. These include session cookies required for login and security, and analytics cookies to understand Platform usage. You may control cookie settings through your browser.
DATA SECURITY
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including access controls and authentication requirements, encryption for data in transit and at rest where applicable, system monitoring and anomaly detection, internal policies governing data handling, and use of reputable third-party providers contractually obligated to implement appropriate security measures.
Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. In the event of a suspected or confirmed data breach, we will notify affected users and take remediation steps in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated version on the Platform and update the date. We will notify users of material changes. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you agree to the updated Policy.
DATA DELETION REQUEST
You have the right to request permanent deletion of your personal data.
To submit a deletion request, email us at info@militaryactors.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include your full name and the email address associated with your account.
We will permanently delete 100% of your personal data, including non-VA data, within 45 days of receiving your verified request. We will send you a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
Note: Some data may be retained where required by law, such as transaction records required for tax compliance, for the legally required retention period only.
If your account is dormant (no login activity), we retain your data for a maximum of 3 years before deletion or anonymization.
In the event of a transfer of ownership or sale of the business, you will be notified and will have the option to: request secure deletion or download of your data; close your account; or continue under the new owner's policies if consistent with these commitments.
